Here’s an awesome article I recently read from the HuffPost that describes “Philanthrocapitalism”: Merging philanthropic/social change intentions with business and its power in implementing policy change and societal change.
Coincidently, that is the idea behind my future business/clothing line: to utilize capitalism in a way that positively pushes social change, encourages society’s intellectual progression and to steer capitalism away from solely benefiting the smaller percent of the population. I call it capitalism’s better sibling.
“There is an opportunity, and we believe an obligation, for philanthrocapitalists to help reform capitalism, so that it genuinely works in the interest of the population as a whole, not just a small subset of it.” -HuffPost, Mathew Bishop and Michael Green.
